Fell Down and Died
This afternoon about half-past one o'clock Charles Kiefer, a farmer from Lower Mt. Bethel, fell down at the corner of Sixth and Wolfe streets and died in a few moments. He was sixty-four years old and well-to-do. His body was taken to the house of his daughter, Mrs. Stewart Weaver, sho lives near where his death occurred. Coroner Uhler held an iquest ,and the following additional facts were learned.

Dr. Bachman testified. - I found the man dead; from apearance I should say he died of apoplexy of the brain; produced by rapid congestion of the brain, , I think; the pupils were extremely dilated; I noticed that he had been eating watermelon; he might have been standing in the sun, and that would affected him.

Mattie Woverton, a little girl, saw hime fall; he fell on his back with both hands out; I called Mr. Forrest Reichard, and he held him.

Mr. Forrest Reichard said that when he found him he was still alive; I ashed him if helt better, but he did not answer; he vomited after he helped him up; he lived about 10 to 15 minutes.

Howard mtchler said that heheld hold Mr. Keifer; a settee was broght out and when we laid him on it we found he was dead; from all appearance he must have been dead when I got there.

The jury returned a verdict according to the above facts.
