Thomas Brotzman
Thomas Brotzman, a machinist at the Lehigh Valley Shops for forty-five years and a well known and respected citizen, died at 10 o'clock this morning at his home, at 155 East Wilkes-Barre street, South Side, of paralysis, after an illness of about five years. During that time he sustained eight strokes, the last attack proving fatal. He was 79 years of age. He was most popular at the Valley Shops and was always a kind-hearted and sociable.

Deceased was born in Palmer Township and was a son of the late Philip and Susan Brotzman. He is survived by his wife and three sons and two daughters: Frank W. Brotzman, of California; Charles E. Brotzman, of Denver, Colorado; Leonard H. Brotzman, Mrs. Anna Dorshimer and Mrs. Edward Kester, of this city. He was a member of Easton Lodge, No. 152, F. and A.M., and of St. Paul's Lutheran church, South Side. During the Civil War, he served in the Union army as a wagon master. After the war he started as a machinist at the Lehigh Valley Shops and retired five years ago when he was taken ill.

Deceased served several terms as a member of the South Easton and Easton school boards and took an active interest in school matters.
